We had Todd Martin here to deliver a reining clinic this past March 2009, it was a huge success. We have booked him to come back again, if you are interested in attending this with your horse, auditing will be available as well. We have booked him back for 2010. If you want more details contact me via my email.

thanks

I'm new to the western world so have always ridden in breeches. It seems to me that the western types just wear whatever jeans they have on at the time. I'm doing this but I end up with horizontal scratches on the side of my hip. Clearly it's from the seam of my pants, but my question is are my pants too loose or too tight?
So, last week I got 4 good rides in on Klint. Borrowing a saddle from my instructor until I can get my own, so got a good start on things. Now, klint is a standardbred so I know I'll never have that nice slow jog.. but his "trot" is so, springy.. I was wondering if anyone had any tips on taking the spring out of his step.. haha He has a beautiful lope, but it's just the jog that's hard.. I'm constantly having to post in a western saddle, and i have a hard time getting my leg aids when ...

With several cattle pennings around the Maritimes one of the clubs here on the Island has decided to go with sortings this year...

I have to agree with alot of the pros that were mentioned...

- easier on the cattle, smaller area for them to run and also less cattle are used

- cheaper to run on a team thus allowing a rider to go on more teams

- things seem to move a little quicker, maybe less setting up?

- really tests the abilities of your horse to get under itself and work ...
