PostSubject: Dwarfs....   Wed Aug 05, 2009 4:13 pm

Hmmm... I've been looking at the picture of the dwarf Miniature on AtlanticRider's homepage and trying to decide how I feel about it...

I was slightly taken back when I first saw it but dwarfs do happen and the majority of the time they aren't intentional...

I don't think imperfections should be hidden but it is a Classifieds site (amung other things) and there are lots of folks out there just getting into the equines that might not be aware of the difficult life a dwarf can lead and that they certainly aren't "the cream of the crop".

Then I thought maybe it was put there as a learning tool so when people see that it is a dwarf they say, "hmmm,... what does that mean?" so then they go do some research and educate themselves on the implications involved with owning a dwarf Miniature...

Just curious if anyone else noticed the picture and what you thought about it?

I sure did notice. I had mixed feelings; part of me thought it was adorable and wanted it. Part of me wondered what sort of life it really leads.

Bowlins mini farm had one once I remember.. and he was so darn cute.. but he had a lot of health issues and if I remember he didn't live all that long..

A western horse has guts and commitment, an english horse has grace and elegance, but my horse has it all!
