I am in the process of breaking a young horse, i ride western and have a Billy cook reining saddle
it seems like it fits her well, but she has no withers and her back is very round so the sadde
slips forward and you feel like your riding on her neck.... Any Suggestions?

I would say it doesn't fit, must be too wide. I would not further any training in this saddle. Saddle fit is very crucial in a young horses training.

Hubby has the same trouble with alot of the young horses he trains - unfortunately we really haven't found a great solution. Usually by the time they turn 3 the saddle fits much better it was just the akward/not completely filled out two year old stage.

I had a filly that was bum high and low withered so this was a hugh issue. I took a pony pad folded it in half side to side and put it over the front of my horse's pad, under the saddle rising the front of the saddle. Not sure if this will apply in your situation; but, it was the perfect solution for my filly.

Yes thanks.... I was even thinking a piece of foam to kinda make withers
and raise the front end of the saddle.

well, there are BUILT UP PADS precisely for that purpose........makes life much easier....then you dont have to worry about the rolled up pad slipping etc.

bUCK IS SO FAT AND ROUND and no withers I cant use a pad, only a blanket or it just slides side to side, but mine slips backwards so a breastcollar helps that. good luck
