I'm not an English rider/coach myself but this could and may have an impact on money we spend for our yearly show insurance and may very well have an effect on the Reining community which we dabble in (although I'm not completely up on recent changes or the affiliation Canada has with NRHA).

I'm curious to hear people's opinions on the changes occuring within Equine Canada and how you feel about the position your province has taken...

Despite the Maritimes being small I find it interesting that New Brunswick has decided to be compliant while Prince Edward Island and Nova Scotia remain non-compliant.

I received an e mail from NSEF stating their reasons for non compliance. Basically what EC is doing is against their own constitution. They cannot make these changes without going to the members for a vote. They have also accused NSEF of irregularities regarding fees which NSEF denies and have spoken to their legal council about. Their reaction to the whole EC thing is actually being driven by their concerns with the misinformation the EC is putting out to the members in all provinces and with the support of their legal council. I believe there are 8 provinces who are not going to roll over for the EC without a fight.

Should be interesting to see how this plays out.
