Just thought I would let everyone know that I am still alive and farely well!!! It's sad because I think I've only kept in contact with RobinsKelticBuckaroo since Wednesday's is our lunch dates AKA K.D. Wednesday's
Work has been over powering lately, and I've been riding as much as I can.
I did manage to get to a reining clinic over the weekend (also storm stayed might I add).
So I have to atleast 'brag' about my awesome reining clinic.
I had intentions of bringing my little mare up to Pictou County to Sumac Farms for a Mona Lewis clinic. My transportation backed out due to their horse getting an abscess. My truck needs a new back end so I could not trailer at all. Not thinking I was going to ride at all, I got their late Friday night (after work) at 11:30. I had no idea where I was all I knew is I was at a guest house on Sumac Farms... Morning comes and we all head to the barn down the road. WOW! I cannot get over what a spectacular place that is!!! I reccomend you guys go on the website!
To my surprise I did get to ride! I climbed on top "Sumac Up Top" AKA Ritz. He was professionally trained by Sophie Laverdière in Quebec... This is the FIRST time I ever really rode a reiner. I have to admit I got so dizzy from spinning. But I did learn a lot and now know what it should feel like when my horse stops. I cannot get over that he is the same age as my filly but they are obviously at two different levels.
My last ride was Sunday morning and of course it was due to storm. It was already raining when we started our ride. We ended a bit early so Mona could get home. Norma ended up sticking around another evening with the horses because of the storm and so everyone at Sumac figured it was best I stuck around as well... I got up early Monday AM and got to work by 11. Only 2 hours late!
I went to ride Callie the other night and I realized how much work we need to do for next years NRHA shows. Yikes! Back to riding hardcore and less posting on ME! hehe
