Udders are hard to predict, until they are bagged tight, full to where they cant fill no more and waxed or dripping milk. My paint maiden mare is due in the next 20 days but she has hardly anything to speak of. She has developed but doesnt look anywhere close. On the other hand my TB who is not due till early April has a nice size bag already. Comparing the two you'd think she'd be due very soon before the paint. But then again the TB is not a maiden.
your pics still look like there is room for more milk/colostrum to fill them up and not showing waxing or dripping yet so still may be a little longer to go. But then again I've seen some go from very little showing to bagging up full over night and foal the next day.
Cant wait till we start having foal pics on here :) Zoey also should have one due any day.
here's udders that arent due for another 8-9 weeks

I too wonder if guys think it's weird to post udder pics, lol.

Mother Nature can be a real trickster at times as well. Last year we had a maiden mare who was due to have a trim two weeks in advance of her due date in July. We had been checking her daily for any changes . She was checked at dusk the night before and there were NONE...teeny tiny udder. We went out to collect her from the field for the trim and she had a cute little traveller beside her. He had nursed and she had a full udder. We also have an older broodmare who udders slightly but from past experience we now know she foals a couple of weeks in advance without a full udder. On the other hand, Kallie, MB's mare would wax days before having her foal. Go figure...it is a nerve wrecking waiting game but well worth the wait.

I am really excited about seeing pics of everyones new arrivals!!!!!! 23 days for us.

Kallie's udder was really neat last year, she started to build an udder exactly 30 days before popping out Tru lol!! She would gradually get bigger and bigger, then a few days (4-5) before she started to wax!!

Don't you love this waiting game D.. hahaha I'm playing that too so don't feel bad. My mare changed a lot about 4 nights ago and since has stayed the same, but she can change in a heart beat.. She only waxed for her first the last 4 NO wax at all. So we'll see, I am really wishing SUNDAY night would be the night but we'll see.. Full moon is the 28th she best not wait that long or I'll have a stroke! I want a Feb baby.. It's mild out right now so she'll wait til its miserable no doubt!!!

I'll be sure to post pics and I can't wait to see this baby Fjord, how cute!

I'm very anxious to see the results of your breeding... I'm betting it is going to be a chunky little one!

Well we'll see.... I'm not sure what this might bring. But the sires dad sure has the breeding to back him up and Zena's babies have done really well at the Paint shows.. I am thinking it should be a pretty nice cross.. HOPING.. I just hope it has color but since Zena threw color all three times she was bred to a QH I can't imagine she wno't throw color with a horse that has color in his back ground.. FINGERS CROSSED..

BUT IF IT COMES OUT BLACK IT BEST BE A FILLY OR I'LL HANG MYSELF IN THE STALL!!!! I would be heartbroke if she had the most awesome colored B/W overo and it was a stud colt! OMG, I can't even think like that... POSTIVE THINKING.. NO really as long as it's HEALTHY that's my MAIN focus, but I hope for a good paint job.

Now this baby Fjord is going to be freaking adorable, I bet his/her little face is goign to be the cutest thing ever!

OKAY seriously these Fjords are driving me insane. The misery of not even having an "approximate" due date is really starting to set in...

So the first one still has a big ole udder but just not full enough... I think she is part Holstein AND the second one is starting to bag up. I told her to go fly a kite though because I know she's just tormenting me several months ahead of time like the first one!!!
