Beautiful tribute to a truly one-of-a-kind horse. Glad I'm not a sheep in his neck of the woods!

That was a very nice article. I did not know the story of his fame. $20K in 1983 must have been a small fortune to spend on a horse.

I wonder if I ever saw him race at the Sackville Downs. My parents would take me there once in a while to watch the "horsies" and it would have been during his racing years.

Wow, he is an amazing horse. His story brought a lump to my throat. Where can I get a copy of that magazine? I adore the picture they used of him, he looks fabulous!

thanks guys - Diane I don't think it's available locally, we got a laminated copy, and then Ann brought us 2 copies of the magazine- she did an amazing job on the photos! I can email a pdf to you if you like - he is still the first to the gate every evening for feed, and I still cannot out WALK him in the pasture LOL

I would love to have a pdf ! I will pm you my e-mail. Although, (as of yet) I have never met Worthy personally , I have fallin for the fellow thru pics I have seen. You know how you will see a horse, and just everything about him/her meets your horse fantasy criteria.. we that how Worthy has always felt to me. He makes me drool. I love his color, his shape and size, and that look in his eye..
Hahaha I better stop now before I get myself all worked up...

He has quite an "air" about him - always did - ! He must have been something when he was young - I can REALLY see why they cut him and didn't leave him a stud LOL
He still tries to play boss - Arrow tuned him in again last night to remind him (again)!
