| Congrads you will love it.
Have a Duane Latimer and don't know why I waited so long to get one. A reining friend advised me and I am glad I took his advice.
Nice folks at Okootooks also call it a lady reiner. It only weighs 32 lbs. and I can ride in it for hours. Had a little silver added and it became my show saddle. Great for older lady with older horse.
An hour spent in the saddle is never wasted! Winston Churchill

| Fiebing's Saddle Soap, the stuff in the little yellow can. Will not darken the leather, just wet a sponge, work the cake into a lather, and apply. Let it sit until it dries, then buff with a soft cloth or shammy to get the film off. Makes it very shiny and regular use will soften the leather like an oil would. I have a bunch of breastplates and bridles in that colour that have suffered no ill effects. Only thing it is it really a pain in the tush to get the film out of the tooling. I use a soft toothbrush and 50 million q-tips.
ETA: Don't use it on rough out leathers or suede as you can't buff it out and it can stain, as it uses water. | |

| Lexol neats foot is a non-darkening leather dressing that I use. My Bob's was very light and has darkened some naturally, but this dressing does not darken it. I spray on the cloth first not directly on the saddle, especially the fenders for better control.

| I emailed the lady I bought the saddle from and she seems to agree with the ladies on her. Here is her responce...
I use Lexol cleaner and conditioner. They come in orange and brown spray bottles but I always use a sponge and clean rags instead of spraying onto the saddle directly. It's hard to control the amount that's going on and it's never even when it's sprayed. I was taught long ago to just pull up a chair (upside down feed bucket) and take the time to care for our tack. Saddles and bridles cost so much these days. They really are an investment.
