| These are free to ME members I have 2 Black Australorp and 3 Rhode Island Reds. They were hatched in May and are starting to get their combs and pretty tails now (and their voices!). They are pure bred birds I purchase from a breeder, not just Co-op birds. Will have to get some new pictures since they are much more handsome now. Located in Debert, NS. | |

| I had chickens for years at my old place and never had problems wih coyotes. The chickens were allowed to run around too. I always heard the coyotes but never saw them anywheres near the yard. They did attract skunks and raccoons though. Nothing a 22 didn't take care of. Raccoons are nasty pine needles. I lost 11 hens to one before I finally returned the favour.

| Since you don't have a great reputation with guns...I think that would be a good idea. | |

| Ok...I know I have been on the forum a long time now and have to say that the flower words still fastinate me....Wissy and JJ gave me a tutorial a couple of years ago but "pine needles" is a new one for me...my addled brain is scrabbling to figure out what it is exactly. Me thinks I might have too much time on my hands. I think a rooster mght add a lovely twist to the circus...with the addition of guns it sounds like it might become a Wild West Show!!!! I am thinking Finnegan would be a nice name for the rooster...goes with Shaemus and Haimish...no.. maybe Roderick..yes...I like that!!! I am sure delivery could be arranged, right Dexy??? :Chicken-Dance. | |

| The way I see it is if it's in the dictionary, it's not a swear word. However... Pine needles is bas**rds. Sorry Simi, inquiring minds wanted to know :) And Joan, I though my cats were the ultimate hunters till they ran for dear life the day I brought week old chicks home. Molly wouldn't go in the barn for over a week. | |
