I believe the larger breeds of dogs have shorter life spans than the smaller ones........does this hold true for horses?

I think it is in the genetic make up for ponies to last forever just to drive their owners up the wall, but other than that I really not sure.
And yes I do have a pony and yes she will live forever just to cause me grief and yes I am purchasing another one and yes I need my head examined.

I believe it's true! I haven't met a Newfoundland pony that hasn't lived over 30.. Tammy's skipper is in his higher 20's (correct me if I'm wrong!) And she showed him all last year and everyone loved him. One of the schoolies at my barn was put down earlier this year at age 42

Yes, generally drafts have shorter lifespans and ponies have longer.
