If you know of someone who passes away, and has a couple of senior horses, that are to be euthanized. Would it be in good taste to offer to help hold the horses for the family?

I'm a little confused by "hold". Do you mean hold them for the vet as their are being put down or holding them in your barn till it can be arranged with a vet. Either way, I wouldn't see offering in bad taste.

I think that would be fine, especially if the family may be a little timid or just not want to be a part of it.

Hey Charlo...........arranging for the holes to be dug, and someone to put them in that sort of thing would be extremely helpful to folks that have no idea. Helping with the vet is also something the folks that have passed would have appreciated too....good on you girl
