New horse...needs a name Empty
PostSubject: New horse...needs a name   New horse...needs a name Icon_minitimeWed Mar 31, 2010 12:05 pm

I recently got a new horse, well large pony to be more accurate. He's a 4 year old paint stallion (soon to be gelded), sire is Ratchettes Old Man. He's between 14.2 and 14.3. This guy is built like a tank! Very sturdy and powerful. I need a name for him asap but I can't seem to come up with anything that suits him. I was kind of thinking maybe a native american name? Or something that means sturdy or strong? Does anyone have any suggestions?

I don't have very good photos at the moment. He was kept in a barn all winter with no turnout and is covered in manure...quite dirty! I am hoping to get him cleaned up this weekend. Please, if anyone has any name suggestions I'd love to hear them. He came with the handle "Big Boy" but I don't really care for that.

Thans CJ, I'm really hoping to get some name ideas for him...I'm terrible at names! I can't keep calling him "buddy" forever, lol.

I like

CHOCHMO: Native American Hopi name meaning "mud mound."

Seeing how he was covered in manure and mud when you got him, I think it's appropriate!

Thanks for all the suggestions! CJ that is quite a list, took me a while to read through it. I do like Takoda (Koda for short). I have a short list that I'm thinking about. Chochmo is too funny!

Here is an updated picture, taken last night. He's a bit cleaner but still needs a bath...hopefully it will be warm enough this weekend and he will be cooperative.
