Baby born May 15, 2010 at 10:32 p.m.!!!

I am very very very proud to announce that this evening Fiesta had an AMAZINGLY beautiful, red dun overo filly!!!! I have decided to call her Diva as she was born and within being 5 minutes old bucked for the first time! Managed to kick mom a few times in the head! Took us a little while but we managed to get her latched on to mom to nurse! Fiesta was super patient and very understanding with us. Didn't mind us being in there at all!

How appropriate, Diva was born on Val's birthday!! So Happy Birthday to Val and Happy Birthday to Diva!!! I am fairly sure I am going to register her as Coosa's Fiesty Cheyanne.....But I will take suggestions, as long as Fiesty is in there because WOW! hehe Anyway here are some pics of the little sweetheart!

Thanks for the kind words everyone! She is quite the little spitfire! Not sure now if "Diva" fits her because she is sooooooooo spunky! Every time I touch her bum that tiny thing comes off the ground! LOVES to do little baby bucks and rears! Fiesta is pretty protective of her but she lets me pretty much maul the poor thing! Baby lovesss to drive mom crazy! She loves just racing around and causing trouble! Shes not too fond when mom makes any sounds (grunts neighs ANYTHING) she gets all jumpy and kicks at moms head! Shes DEFINATELY going to be a handfull! More pictures will follow! Shes now 15 hours old and quite the little ball of badness! She has moms head color and chest but everything else is just hers :) She has the BIGGEST ears and its just so cute. Shes still trying to figure out those spider legs she has and manages to successfully wobble every time she gets up! (As you can tell I'm not proud hehe) Anyone who wants to come see her let me know!

I'm super happy about the new addition! Momma did a great job! I had my catchers mit ready ;) Good thing to - it shot out of there no problem!! Diva is such a sweeite, already getting herself into trouble and very independant, mom gets very worried if she isn't right by her side and Diva is like "see ya later mom I'm going to check stuff out!" More pictures to come for sure!

Sounds like you have a very brave, inquisitive, opinionated girl there. Her markings are really nice. I thought it was really interesting how similar her front markings are to her mom's. Keep the pictures coming. Videos too - I want to see her bucking action!
