Oh what have I gone and done...

Well as a couple of people know, that this fall Dealer is going to be put down. He didn't have a good winter last year (to the point we couldn't even pick out or trim his back feet). So this fall he is going to be put to sleep, he's 26 and has had a good life for most of his years.

So that means I have to go and find a new friend for Flicka and what did I do... I bought a baby....

He might look familiar to most people, it's Indi from LB Ranch's barn ( I borrowed some of her pictures for below)

I am soooo envious! When I saw the pictures of him and read his breeding it was all I could do to look the other way. He is going to be a beautiful boy. I've had my eye on him and Val's Zippy. Another horse just isn't possible though. I look forward to pictures of him growing up.

Sorry to hear about Dealer though :(

Flicka, I know exactly how you feel girl. You can only do what is best for Dealer. I send lots of hugs to you for that day.

I am so sorry to hear about Dealer. It is never an easy decison to make when one has to decided to lay a faithful friend to rest. I , of course have a soft spot for Inde and his sister, Diva....sort of grandbabies , you know...lol!!! He is going to be a handsome boy and I know a nice companion for Flicka!!! Congratulations!!!

Sorry to hear about Dealer :-( It's not easy making those decisions, even though we know it's in the best interest of our dear friends....but congrats on the new addition -he is beautiful! Lots of fun in store!

So sorry about Dealer. :(. I love Indi and his red-lined ears. IF he is like his father and grandfather he will be a great tempered horse and beautiful also! Congrats!!

We actually were talking about a Donkey as my SO want's one, so you never know what shall happen in the spring. That way if I take one of the horses somewhere's the other still has a friend.

It shall be a hard day for Flicka and me when the time comes, but I know it's for the best and I have to also be happy for getting this new little one. It shall be an interesting day around here when Indi comes, I have to go through everything and "foal" proof it. Flicka and Dealer are really good with the fence, so right now there is only one line at different places, and the fencer was not on for the longest while. (Hubby ran over the electrical cord).

you will figure out all his own little idiosycracies and adjust accordingly...its gonna be fun!
