| Ill admit, I fell sucker to just using Facebook since last fall... But I'm starting back up! So Ill join in!!! Where to start.... Im Heather, 21 in Nov! I was Born in Moncton NB but grew up outside the city. one huge thing about me is I do not like cities. give me a little town any day. last fall I moved to Inglewood Ontario which is 15 minutes from Brampton and another 20-30 from... Toronto... its nice to be driving distance from some stores I've never really been too a lot being from a small city but I am not a fan of that many people being in one place... and driving... ARGGGG!!! but I do make a trip in maybe once a month to go to Bass Pro Shop and or The Rain Forest Cafe (which is the best place to eat that is not homecooking... ) Life has been... it has not been the best or even advange but I know that it could have been a lot worse and in the past 3-4 years I've really started to move on and count any blessing that comes along no matter how big or small. If it was not for my uncle, Donny Adams (his wife Joanne is my cousin but they are more like my Aunt and Uncle) Making a deal with me for Riding lessons at his Reining stables, its very likely my life would not have been so good. That was when I was 9 or 10 and I kept going for another 7 1/2 years for lessons, work and to just hang out. I've owned a few horses but right now I have 4 Two are on the farm in NB sandy and Princes of course with Harold. my father and I share ownership of Princess. and two are with me here in Ontario. Belladonte and Arizona. I have a rabbit who is on a friends farm in NB And I have a puppy Tumper (German shepXBasset hound) and a cat MORT I've very old school country and fully Western. right now I'm working a Lothlorien Farms http://www.lothlorienfarm.com/ as a show groomer And don't know where i'm going in life. or where I want to go... I do not want to do this for the rest of my life. but do not know what I do want to do... so for now I'm just sticking it out here. Right now I'm on my only day off and getting ready to go to a rodeo so this is a quick post. I'll edit it with photos and more info later! :D have a good dayyy! EDIT!!! PHOTOS!!! Me trying something new this summer. picked it up faster then I thought. it helped having balance from riding horses! :D One of Sandy and I's first rides at our farm in 2008 Sandy in Aug of this year. Arizona and I at a little fun show playing around at home Harold and I Belladonte going for a walk under saddle for the very first time Belladonte the first time I got to meet her my two trouble makers Princess, a 27 year old Belgain mare my father and I now share. she was fully mine but we were going to send her back to her old farm but my dad wanted her to stay. my puppy Tumper German Shep X Basset hound. and my Little kitty cat Mort He is an odd cat to say the least. but I love him

| Finally getting some time to read all the posts. They are absolutely fantastic! And Joan, you've made me feel so guilty for not posting. I may have to do it in spurts though because I have the attention span of a nitt, and it's almost 11:30 at night. Well past MY witching hour.
My name is Tammy Webber (nee Reed). I'm 47 glorious years old. Alot of people wish they were young again, but not me. I love being my age and wouldn't want to "do it again". Don't think I could handle all the bullshit of life without killing someone this time. But I digress ....
I retired from the military in 2008. They gave me a medical release because of my PTSD issues - so Joan is not the only one on this forum that is officially certifiably nuts! I have my ups and downs and tend to hibernate at times. But don't you ladies worry because Joan always checks on me to make sure things are going fine. I have to say that I really, really enjoy ME. The support that we give each other is such a joy - not to mention the humour. So thanks everyone for playing!
And now, back to the show ... I've always loved horses but never had one until I lived on my own. My dad was in the military back in the day when we moved every 2 years, so horses just weren't a possibility. The folks did their best to let me go on trail rides whenever the opportunity presented itself. I also got to do a one week horse camp in BC one summer when I was in grade 5. It was heavenly being around the horses 24/7. I was somewhat scarred for life though when one night someone stold all the girls' undies and ran them up the flagpole. I just couldn't figure out why someone would do that. Another one of life's little mysteries.
I leased a horse when I was living in Trenton Ontario. Her name was Promise Me and she was absolutely wonderful. Very forgiving and she taught me lots. My husband (at the time) bought her for me for our first anniversary. I was in heaven! Fast forward a few years and we were posted to Halifax NS. I took my girl with me and boarded her at Fantasy Farms in Enfield. Hubby and I split up due to moral conflicts (he enjoyed drugs and little girls). I found it impossible to make ends meet so had to sell Promise. She went to a fantastic home with 2 young girls that just adored her. Once again I was out of the horse world.
Met another fella (french one this time). Married. Divorced. Didn't like all his girlfriends!
In 1999 I was posted to St. John's Newfoundland, met a local boy, got knocked up and then married. We have an absolutely amazing 8 (almost 9) year old daughter named Kayla. When Kayla was 3 I got her involved in the horse world. Actually I used her as bait so that Gord would think it was a wonderful idea to get hooked up with the horsie types! Poor little Kayla had a hard go. She was bucked off, stepped on, stranded halfway over a board when evil pony tried to jump out of the arena ... well, you get the picture. By this time I had met friends and got back into the horse world for myself. It was sooo wonderful.
Santa brought Kayla the best pony ever when she was 4. His name is Thunder and he farts alot. Kayla still wasn't interested in riding but she loved to just look at Thunder and climb the bars on his stall. Thunder pulls a cart so we had lots of fun going on cart rides and getting him to pull the toboggan in the winter. This summer Kayla has done a complete turn-around in the riding department. After seeing me do barrels at the Canada Day Show, and then going to the Stampede where she saw the ladies doing barrels, she has now decided that she and Thunder will do barrels. She has confidence to put on his halter, lead him around, clean his hooves, tack him up and even ride. She's still on a leadline right now but that's not stopping her from going in the Pink Classic on Oct 1st. The only drawback is that I have to run with them so our time may not be in the "lightning speed" category!
I have a QH named Stretch (Twist of Excellence) who retired from the maritime reining world. He is an absolutely amazing guy. I wish I had been able to see him strut his stuff when he was competing because I haven't a clue how talented he really is. All I know is that he's gorgeous, affectionate, and doesn't like to get his feet wet. He cracks me up!
2 years ago a newfoundland pony by the name of Skipper of Avalon joined our barn. His owners were moving to BC for work so were looking for a good home for him. He is a wonderful addition to the barn and is one of my favourites. He's the type of guy that will do anywhere and do anything. Skipper is a very famous NL pony because he was one of the foundation stallions that was used to preserve the "breed". Today someone visiting from the states dropped in to meet him and get pictures. It's pretty cool!
We also have 2 guinea pigs (named So and Cute), a fish named Fred, 2 cats named Barney and Mia, and a dog named Zak.
OK, my eyeballs are bleeding so I have to go to bed now. I'll continue this tomorrow. Actually it'll be interesting to read because I've already taken my night medication so I probably won't remember any of this. LOVE THE MEDS!

| Ok I will join in as well, I am a married mother of two human children, and 1 16yr old stbd mare who I have been riding for about 13 yrs. I just purchased a 5 yr old qh mare who is in foal to a paint and a breeding stock paint colt :) we are very excited to meet her and her colt they will be arriving in October! We also just aquired two cats, a 6yr old and 9 yr old, their momma had to move to Aberta and we had just lost ours to a fox I think so these guys were a good match since they were already neutered no cost for us :) Dad likes that idea:P
I am originally from B.C. but married a Cape Breton man, I moved here 13 years ago and this is now home! I work seasonal work so I am off now for the rest of the year to enjoy my fur kids while the human kids are at school (I love school aka free child care) My daughter rides and takes lessons regularly....I think she has the horse bug like I do she is always wanting to go riding (hopefully it stays that way!) My son doesn't really care about the horses he would rather go on the 4 wheeler with his dad which works for me too. Dad used to enjoy the odd trail ride until we sold our other trail horse, but hopefully with this new mare he will start going with me again :)
We just starting in the horseshow world around here I borrowed my friends pony for my daughter to show small fry, she had fun, the old mare kept her safe and she learned tons! I will eventually post pics...maybe someday or when our new horses arrive! all in all I am very boring I ride(not as much as I would like), work (too much) and take care of kids. I love hearing everyone elses stories and adventures and love seeing all of the pictures!

| Hello, I'm usually a silent creeper but from what I've read so far this seems like a pretty fun group! I'm from Ohio, US. I can't imagine life with out a horse they are my therapy and keep me sane! I've done alittle of everything horse related from trimming hooves to showing and everything inbetween. Over the last few years I've organized a Mini horse project for our local county 4-H and hopefully the state is going to pick it up. I have my best Buddy Boone (Poco's Music Maker) I've had since he was a yearling he's 30+ now ( I haven't pulled out his papers in yrs afraid to look) He is a reg. QH and he has his pony Hooper (grassmere's red fox Shetland pony). My mother and I have a nice collection of mini's because you know -they are like potatoe chips, ya can't just have one. I won't list them all in detail here but will share some pics :) I have 2 boys exactly 9yrs and 3 days apart (6 and 15) they keep me plenty busy. My husband are about to take a big risk and by a bigger place with more room for our hobbies/pets. Scary move I just pray my home sells and I don't end up with 2 mortgages. We've been looking for years to find a place with more acreage finally found something we can make work so we're biting the bullet. And once we're moved and settled I'm going to go full speed fwd with my little business Idea, in which I'd like to maybe discuss here sometime to get some non-bias and non-competative opinions. I love all animals and will avoid hitting even a caterpiller in the road. Living here we have 4 humans, 5 cats, 2 dogs(labs), 2 guinea pigs, 55gal Tropical fresh water fish tank, 55gal salt water fish tank, 1 -10yr old bunny left, and then Boone, Hooper, and usually 1 of the mini's on our 1 acre homested. The rest of the herd has to stay at mom's farm until I move. But I love all them too :) There's 8 mini's(Dusty,Angel, Blacky, black jack, toby, cicso,Coco, boomer, a POA(bob), and QH/paint (Jack(outta Two-eyed Jack)) at mom's farm. I've enjoyed meeting everyone thru this blog :) https://2img.net/h/i120.photobucket.com/albums/o182/jbrat13/101_4322.jpg[/IMG[/img]Wyatt and Black Jack Justin & Boomer Boone & Hooper Well there is a start on some older pics that where in my photobucket, the only ones I've been able to figure out how to post on here so they are pics from over a year+ ago. Can I get Facebook pics to post on here? Thats where my lastest pics are. Well its nice to meet you all! | |

| I'm 24& from Cape Breton .. I have my own blog on my very own domain (I'm such a pro blogger ) and I love it more than is reasonable. My life is pretty average. I spend my days going to university (an hour a day ..so draining), running/ biking/ swimming (training for an Ironman in summer 2013)& riding whenever I get the chance. I've ridden since I was 10yrs old but never owned a horse. I have lucked out in being able to ride horses for other people when they were too busy / couldn't handle the horse they owned. I've never shown& have 0 desire to ever do it. Wake up early to spend hours cleaning, grooming& working my little bum off? No thanks! I'll leave that to you crazies ;) At the moment, I'm horseless& it definitely sucks. I also take photos in my spare time with hopes of eventually having a little side business at some point! The point I knew I had potential was when one person stole my photos, entered them in competitions& won. Awesomeeeeeeee. They say people claiming your photos as their own is a compliment. I say obviously, 'they' aren't photographers! Some photos so this isn't just all boring words about me- My pup& his friend, Max. Probably I love my dog more than is reasonable ;) My friend's dog, Buddy. He is awesome! My boyfriend& the giant fiddle. *I have a lot better& more relevant (horse) photos ..but in interest of not posting people on here who's permission I don't have to do so, I'm leaving them off a public forum! Sorry for the basic overload of puppy dogs! Hope that fills you folks in on TopSecret's life! | |

| Here we go! I am a 27 year old mom. I have two beautiful children. I am originally from Alberton, PEI. I got married in June 22nd, 2007 . Moved to Plaster Rock ,NB where my husband is from. I am a certified Resident Care Worker and will be resuming that once my kiddos start school. However, if I can stay at home and work with horses (other than my own) I would love to do so. I love working with horses..and problematic horses. I love training young horses and have started all of my own except a Gelding that I had bought waaay back. His name was Smokey In Hollywood! Awesome horse, but you could not trust him. With other people. I would love to become a certified hoof trimmer . IF I could ever find the time to do it! lol I have done my own for 4 going on 5 years now. Also have a few outsider horses that I do as well. I love GSD! This is Matrix I picked up this STB Mare (My Jammies) at a sale, and restarted her as a saddle horse. She sold to a wonderful lady down in Moncton! This mare I started as well. And her and her foal are in wonderful homes now. Standardbred stallion I had named Diesel. I trained him as well. I gelded him last fall him and Mojo. Diesel has now sold to a young lady down towards Fredericton. The three I have now! The two young ones have their ground work well started. Mojo I have put a couple dozen rides on him this year He will be 4 next year. So he can sit on his experience over the winter. In the spring I will start teaching him things, and start teaching him some advanced things. Smokey! Anyhow..this is my life! Husband, Kids, n horses!!!!!!!!!!!!!

| Well my name is Gabriela, and now I live in Antigonish, Nova Scotia. I was born in Poland in '79. We lived in the city and I occasionally saw a gypsy wagon. I was in love with horses since I could form a conscious thought. Surprisingly no one in my family had been around horses and they couldn't understand my fascination. I was around 4 yrs old when my mom took me to visit my Aunt and Uncle in the country. My Uncle who is my Godfather, always had a soft spot for me so he took me to his neighbours to see a belgian. My eyes bugged out and I gave everyone a heart attack when I ran into it's stall and hugged the giant leg. HAhah it's funny now but I guess I can see why my mom freaked out. I think the hoof was bigger than my head. Fast forward a few years and we moved to Germany. I spent hours sitting at the fence of someone else's farm and I watched this bay grow up from a foal until he was three, no one knows but I sneaked in once and sat on his back. He was super sweet and just kept grazing...thankfully. It was my biggest adventure. I found out later his name was Farin. Then on a school trip, I went on a trail ride at an amusement park. It was a very sweet Haflinger I was around 11 and technically too short for the ride, but I begged and pleaded and an understanding soul allowed me to go. I should mention that any movie with a horse has been watched, but my favorite of all time was the Black Stallion. And of course what does every horse crazy kid want to do..... Let's go fast... So I fell on my butt into a big puddle of mud. It was awsome! I was grinning the whole walk back haha. So then at 12 I found out we were moving to Guelph, Ontario, Canada, I was upset cause I didn't want to leave my friends. So my dad said there were cowboys and horses in Canada. I was sold...he was smart, he never actually promised buying me a horse. When I was 19 my best friend took me trail riding for the weekend which evolved into leasing a Black QH named Bandit, which in turn turned into leading trail rides on weekends. At 24yrs old, once again dumped by some other insignificant guy I gave my heart to I made a decision. What would I regret if I died tomorrow??.... Well a university student at the time it wasn't smart but I went to the barn I used to ride at and asked about any horses available. Jazz, a chestnut paint, green broke (20 rides when I bought her) came up to me out of the herd of 70 + and that was it. I tried her out on the trails and she never tripped once and I bought her and tack that day. She's 12 now and I have had her since she was 4. In 2009 I came to visit a friend in Nova Scotia. I was here for 9 days, he proposed on the 8th. Dean and I married in Sept 2010. He's a great horse husband, even though he's not that interested in things without engines, he tows my trailer around for me, hangs out at shows and holds my horse for me between classes. One day we plan on buying a little spot with land so Jazz can be at home with me, he also wants a Clydesdale to drive with. All in good time. We live with our Black Lab Duke that we got last year, Jazz tolerates him, he just wants to lick her to death hehe. I just ride for fun, not very competitive, try a bit of everything. My favorite was going camping with my friends and our horses in Ontario. If you guys ever get a chance, check out Sandaraska Park on google. Awsome place near Peterborough. I'm going to try and figure out the picture uploading situation haha | |
