| Call me a pussy, I'm with Joan. It's flipping freezing out. And damp!
I put the boys coolers on them yesterday, took them off at 5 and hung them on the blanket rack to dry. They still aren't dry!!! I am so sick of having a wet pixie, cold toes, and a crappy demeanor.

| I feel like crying 24/7. It's constantly dreary and cold and depressing. I have no wood in the house for a fire (yeah, we were waiting for nice weather to get the wood to dry! HA!) so I had to turn my electric heat on. I'm not normally a pussy, but if I don't see some sun soon I'm moving my buttercup to Florida. | |

| Nope, they weren't killed off, they all migrated to the Island! They started in mid May and didn't leave until mid July! I was ready to go out there with a baseball bat and use the little buggers for batting practice! | |

| OMG! You all should bring your freezing asses to Oxford. I'm always just TOO HOT!! Except for the few odd days it has rained. Its cooled off enough to breath. Maybe I should just hike my buttercup bak to the Island.. I sooooooooooooooo miss the cooling off shore breezes. | |

| The last three days I have gone to the barn in fleece jogging pants, a long sleeve t-shirt, a hoodie, and a soft-shell jacket. This is ridiculous! It's August.
The *only* good thing about this cold weather is that the Exhibition might be tolerable for the poor horses this year. Usually it's sweltering.

| Suck for the rider's and their tack, that is for sure, but at least it won't be a dust cloud. Between the cars driving by and the horses scooting around, it's little wonder they all don't cough themselves to death (rider's included!). Though I can understand being pretty upset if my immaculately groomed horse, show saddle and pricey attire were soaked through and covered in mud. There is no winning, lol. It started out fair today, no rain, mild (for May), and the footing in my arena dried up enough so that only a few spots were like greased lightening, but then -of course- the fog rolled in and we all froze. Now it's raining again. I'm going to have to put shoes and corks on soon for frig sake. Or tie traction chains to the horses feet. I can at least bundle up to save myself, but not much I can do about the tar slick in the field. I would give my left butt cheek for an indoor right about now. The old mare at my barn and T (to a much lesser extent) are starting to blow out their summer coats. THAT is showing a sad state of affairs. Also, the coolers I hung up on *monday* are still not dry. Damp, wet cold weather... so much for our 'hotter and drier than normal' summer. | |

| i remember seeing the prediction for this summer on the Environment Canada page, and they had everywhere in North America prediction to be above average/extreme temperatures EXCEPT the maritimes. I also remember thinking, ha! right..how likely is that.
Jerks got it right for once. I think I may actually ride more this coming winter than I have this summer... such a shame.
