| I'm going to get him on the 18th! (9 days) He is a Bay Varnish Roan with spotted blanket (right?) 8 years old. 14.2 hands. Going to make one great horse! Right now his name is Casper. Don't know if I want to chance it or now. But if I do I would like some Ideas for names. I was thinking Viento (Vin) its spanish for Wind. what do you think? | |

| very nice...... It is bad luck to change their names. I am not supertious ( spelling) but I changed my first horse's name with absolutely terrible results.
has anyone else heard of this ?

| never heard of that. I've had friends change horse's names without problem. If the horse is older and has not changed owners alot then no I would not change the name.
I kind of see it as about the same as giving the horse a nickname that you would use all the time. And I'm sure we all call our horses "Baby" "little girl (boy)" "Sweetstuff" "cutey" "cutepie" etc...

| He's cute.
I have never changed my horses names from what they were when i got them. I know people that do and it's fine. However i don't like/would never give my horse a name like buckey, kicker whatever cause i just think they will turn out like there name and be a bucker or kicker lol. I'm just weird like that.

| Hi there, He looks like a total sweetheart. I think Viento is a beautiful name. Horses should all be able to run like the wind at some point--it's in their nature. Casper is a cute name for sure....but most people would associate that name with Casper the WHITE ghost.....and he's not all white...then you'd get the questions throughout his lifetime...."Why is he named Casper?"....over and over again. Then again, he is 8 years old and he knows his name as Casper. Oh, i am NO help am I... Well, good luck with his name--he won't care what he's called....long as he isn't called late for supper! Tee hee! I hope you two share lots of happy times. | |

| Heather I find he looks like Gambler - Celines horse........
I would not change a name unless absoluteley necessary.
If you were to change it - go to something simlar so it is not as hard to adapt - maybe even use his present name and new choice at the same time and later wean it to the one you want.
I like Buck Vin is original
I think he looks like a

| Only 4 more days! we will not be able to do chores fast enough that morning! haha Its going to be a crazy full day! I'm going to the stable my friend owns in the morning to help with chores (he is doing the hauling) there is going to be at least 4 of us. My friend and one of the other girls are going to be hauling her horse to a trainer (which is like 30 mins away.) while me and another girl start on chores. Once they are back and chores are done we head out on the road. Pick up the trailer on the way and We are going to pick up lunch on the way. So then we go get my new boy haul him home. watch him for a while and then take Dodger home (if able.) and drop off trailer and then go back to my friends stable (where we started out) and it will probably then be time to do supper chores. | |
