My Husband: the Super Hero.... LMBO

So I get in from the barn and the phone rings...

A friend of ours who works for the RCMP calls and tells us that a cow fell off a trailer in Stratford and its on the loose on the TCH - can we hook on to the trailer and try to help get it outta there...

Glenn and I get in the truck and head down... so Glenn helps the fellow who lost the cow chase it amugst a subdivision in Stratford and finally Glenn gets within roping distance to the 1400lb heifer... he lasoes (sp?) the rope and gets it around her neck (must be from practicing on the dogs :lol:) and then the guy who owns the cow goes, "What now???" LOL and Glenn is like, "MOVE!!!!!!!!! I need to get this wrapped around the tree you're standing in front of..." He gets one wrap around the tree and the cow takes off....with only one wrap it unravels and Glenn hits the tree and goes skidding across the ground on his behind...

He does this for a couple hundred feet and then gets close enough to wrap the rope around a pole...same thing only gets one wrap and the cow takes off again and he wacks the pole and goes skidding.... LMBO

Anyhoo they finally get it to the trailer with the cow attempting to tune/pomel Glenn and the other guy a couple times....

Cow is safe, only messed up a few lawns, and hubby has rope burn.

LOL but the funniest part of it all... the RCMP officier that was there - everytime the cow went towards him he ran...instead of yelling or waving his arms he took off.... I know I know... not everyone is accustom to being around cows but it was still funny :P

That is funny....Hope Glenn's...ummm... nether regions aren't too painful!

Pics would have been priceless....Reminds me of the day one of my pigs got loose...To make a long story short it pulled my pants down in the process of being recaptured...
Those officers are lucky they have cowboys like Glenn around.... :cheers:

You know as we were driving up the road I thought... I should have grabbed my camera... LOL it would have been quite the video to show the kids when they get older.

All this kind of happened around the Subway in Stratford and the girl that worked there was actually the one that called 9-1-1.... I went in and was talking to her briefly... and she tells me, "I've never saw a cow that close before, she was enoromous - I thought she was going to break right through this window... I didn't know what to do - she was just so HUGE!"

All the while her eyes were bugging out of her head... one would think she was talking about an elephant not a full grown heifer....

Too funny! I've just stopped giggling, up here by myself, with nobody to hear me. I can just picture it in my head. Poor, poor Glenn. I think we should all pitch in and buy him some super hero tights and a cape. JUST KIDDING ... men in tights - should be illegal!
