Riding with Dogs
Fri May 04, 2012 11:24 am by Wil-If-I-Want
Do any of you trail ride with your dogs?

If so, do you bring anything with you? Do you avoid certain trails? Have any safety tips? Do you do any work with horse/dog together prior to heading out?

My dog is high energy and I feel a walk around a few blocks isn't enough. I have gone on trails with him before but never alone. Last night he came out to the barn with me and after greeting 4 dogs …

Mon Apr 30, 2012 4:47 pm by imarowdyrebel
I have been watching Marestare lately and have noticed alot of people foaling there horses out on shavings???? I thought that was discouraged. What are your views? I foaled my mare out on straw and will keep her on it for a few weeks. I want to use it up, then I will switch to sawdust (I love how it smells) I find straw alot more time consuming to clean but I love watching my colt fast asleep in …

Hey Everyone,

I'm looking for names & recommendations for GP and Reining trainers in the maritimes. The lady that own's Cowboy's full brother here is looking for sending Rodeo for training, and well with the price of board I am paying currently and will be barely able to ride in September (Got accepted into the business school! woohoo :) ) So am debating on sending him as well.

NEW PONY!!!
Sun Mar 18, 2012 11:19 am by Hug a Horse Farm
I'm so excited .... and nervous!

Now I need to get her from the Equus Center in Granville Ferry, NS (near Annapolis) to Antigonish, NS

Hoping to move her in a few weeks - I actually have too much ice on the ground here right now, but the upcoming weather is looking good for melting!

Anyone know of any trailers heading this way from the Valley? Or going past to CB or NFLD?

Fri Mar 09, 2012 7:38 am by Wil-If-I-Want
Anyone have any information to share?

I read that its pretty uncommon but can happen. Anyone ever deal with it before and have an recommendations re: treatment?

I've been arround horses for 15 years and saw them for my first time yesterday on a friends horse. She bought delousing powder and did every horse at the barn (although none were visably found on the other horses) she'll repeat this in …

Question for those on the business side of things....
Thu Mar 15, 2012 2:32 pm by RedBaronBPeppy
So, I am in the middle of preparing a business plan for my graduate business project.
For those of you who have started your own horse businesses, can someone give me a few of the general start-up costs involved? things such as:
Price of putting up an outdoor sand arena (post and rail fencing, 100' x 200')
Price of putting up an indoor arena (fabirc, probably 80' x 120')

Insurance costs, and …
