I just had to put up a rave about my little girl Tru! This weekend we went to our first show together! There were a LOT of firsts for us and I think we both came through it great. This was only her third time traveling in the trailer (and the last time she bonked her head and had to get 14 stitches) this time she trailered like a pro, loaded right up and off easily. When we got to the show grounds she wanted to check out everything and the neighing began hehe. She would call to anyone who would listen or answer back.
She didn't spook at a single thing that weekend she was very cool with all the different horses, and gear, the sounds of the highway right by the outdoor ring (we certainly don't have that living 1km down a dirt road back home), she didn't worry about the announcer, or the clapping, wasn't even scared of the plexiglass surround in the indoor (she tried to eat it a few times). She was amazing!
This was also her first time being stalled and she did great and was actually CLEAN in her stall! She would only pee and poop in the same spot :D
We might not have won every class but Bleeding heart she was awesome, aside from getting bored of standing still in some of our long classes (there were 18 of us in the Open Halter mares!!). But all in all she was very well behaved and did what I asked. Oh and she earned her first APHA point! How exciting! And considering I'd never shown in classes anything like this before we did pretty darn good for wining it!
