Homes needed for 2 Horses

I have 2 friends looking to rehome 2 horses.

#1 is a 5 year old grey standardbred gelding. His owner wrote to me - "He is very sound, just hates racing. He is the kind that would not be a beginner horse right away but if the right person took some time with him he would be a great hunter or western pleasure type and he is pretty enough that he would not look out of place in the show ring. The biggest problem is that he is my baby, this will break my heart, so I really need a good place for him to go."

#2 is a 13 year old grey registered Quarter Horse mare (Smokies Royal Chick aka Maggie) about 14.2 or 14.3hh. She is quite thin, does have the heaves and needs hoof attention too. She's a kind mare and quiet to handle. She's 'apparently' broke to saddle but I've personally never tried her because she's so underweight. She's submissive in the herd and would benefit from more one on one attention. Ideally she should be outdoors 24/7 on pasture and have her hay/feed watered. I own her mother (Kelly Royal G Scotch). I checked the mares papers to see if our greys are related..And no they aren't...The one you posted is Smokies..Mine is Smokes

I wish I had room for one more... and then I'd take the Standardbred... :( Hopefully you find homes for them soon.

I just went over and took some pics of the Standarbred. He is from the same barn I got George from. He is beautiful, friendly, has clean legs and is in great shape.

He is absolutely perfect . I have been wanting a grey for such a long time.....

Be sure to tell the owner he would have a foerever home.......

All my STBS previous owners are kept in touch with and have our website bookmarked as we always update with new pics.

All owners are sent pictures on a regular basis and actually are free willed to come visit anytime they want.

Funny thing is that he is another gelding.....normally we have mares.....A new boy and grey....very exciting...

I'll go over and see Rachael today and give her your info. You've spoken to her in the past though because she knows you. Maybe it was only over email.

I think I have placed horses for her before.

Lynn Curwin at the track also has refered me to the track owners.

What is his registered name and barn name.......I have already chosen colours for him.Baby blue....

I forget the name, starts with a C and is 2 words. He's big, atleast 16hh. Big hip and deep chest too.

He certainly from the pics looks in great shape.....

I am at work today from 830-5 so if racheal wants to talk to me about him she can call me this evening between 9-10

Cam will be arriving at Morning Star Acres Mother's Day week-end. Talked with the owners last night. FABULOUS>...She even remebers taking care of one of our geldings here pirate when he raced and is always in contact with that family.....Fabulous.......He will fit in here nicely......Look forward to his arrival and will certainly get lots of pics......

now lets work on this little grey mare...........shes registered, shes beautiful, needs feeding up...she needs to be outside as she is heavey,,,,and her feet need doing.........its not too late for this little girl........we can save her....come on folks....think of someone who needs a companion horse but wants something the kids can get on and go for a hack............
