Do You Have Any Before/After Pictures?

It's always been my dream to operate a horse rescue....not really to rehome them, but to keep to be cared for until the end. It brings me to tears when I see horses that suffer either from neglect or ignorance, through no fault of their own. I think I would have to win a pretty big lottery for that to happen, so it's quite unlikely my dream will be realized.

Ten years ago Thunder came into our lives, and I guess this might be the closest I have come to "rescuing" a horse. I thought I would post some before and after photos of him, but thought there are probably others here that have done the same thing; either for one or more. Maybe you would like to share your photos as well .

Poor wee soul, certainly does bring tears to your eyes...........firstly from pity, then secondly from JOY........he sure looks terrific now..........WELL DONE. :cowboyhound.gi

Nice job, amazing what a little food and tlc can do.
I've done quite a few, not what I'd call rescues but ones I've "upgraded" that either needed food or training before reselling them. Many I still hear from their owners or future owners on how well they're doing, which is always nice to hear.

I definitely like the "after" version of Thunder. You did an awesome job - he's one lucky guy!

oh thats sad I'm going to have to look for pictures of our horse Nicki he's now like 45 years old when we got him the guy took him off the truck (he was headed for meat) we bought him by the pound for i think $600 thats how skinny he was you could see every rib his hips where sticking out like 4 inches on either side he was a mess he's now so fat people keep asking when our mare is due lol.
Good on you for taking care of him and bringing your horse back into great condition

It took a year to getting Thunder in reasonable shape...he had a lot of things going on. He also grew almost 4 inches in height.
