Dawson Gets a Makeover

Thought i'd take Dawson out to play in the outdoor arena the other day when it was really nice, just free lunge him a bit and gave him some exercise. Well he had other ideas for the outdoor arena.

He rolled 5 times!

What a mess. Took over an hour, and two people grooming later that night to get it all off. Doesn't help that the arena was also used as a turnout a bit during the winter so there was manure/mud mix for him to roll in.

He was just giving himself a mud bath, you know people pay top dollar for those at the spa...maybe you should market it. :doglaugh.gif:

I love watching horses be horses, he was having the time of his life.....He seems spunky....spring is in the air...

haha There is a hose with hot water hooked up at the barn but just outside to bathe. I really wanted to do it but was scared of the tiny chance he might catch a chill, even though it was +6, and i could of thrown a cooler on right away.

Charlo i felt like that was look he was giving me every time he got down to roll, "you should really try this! Its free and so nice!"

It was fun to watch but the end result, having to groom him, ick. Hes lucky i love him lol

OMG...hahahahaha...that last picture really says it all...LOL

Priceless....it was like the splash of that puddle drove him to the point where he just couldn't fight the feeling. The pic of him REALLY getting into the roll is hilarious. On the upside..Dawson is still handsome even totally covered in mud!!!!

when i saw your status on FB I never would have thought he got that dirty. Target is always muddy but thats insane. Lucky you have someone to help you groom him. My mom stands there and laughs at me for not buying a horse the color of mud like she did

Talk about a HAPPY HORSIE !!! I really, really, really enjoyed the pictures. You should have put a warning in the subject line though because I think I dribbled in my drawers from laughing so hard. Dawson is definitely in spring mode! I think that's the muddiest I've EVER seen a horse get. Thanks for sharing his joy with us!

hhah im pretty sure thats the dirtiest hes ever been. I've never even seen him roll that much! I can't wait till the first show and i can scrub him and make his whites shinny!

WOW.. what a great batch of pictures!! He was realy enjoying himself.. and I bet he enjoyed the grooming session afterwards. almost as much..He is a beautiful boy clean or dirty!
