This is both good and bad.
(got no photos)
Arizona and Belladonte are with me in Ontario
I went to take Arizona out for a fun run on the track out back
he was ouchy on his front legs. :( two days before he was perfect while playing with belle all over the pasture. he was not really lame but I was not going to ride him even a bit tender.
that was the bad news.
good news:
I took belladonte out to play around with. as I've not been keeping up with her riding (shame on me I know but work has been crazy in more ways then one)
we went for a walk around the front farm area (in hand) and jogged abit. trying to have some fun.
then we went into the main indoor arena and played with a tarp.
first time ever seeing a tarp!
I took it out, unfolded it then started to set it down in front of her. (doing everything slowly and keeping a good eye on her and her body language.)
Before it was all even on the ground Belladonte takes her left leg and steps on it.
then looks at me and was like. "thats it? all of your talk for that? that was nothing mom!"
I did as much as I could with the tarp and she was great. I even put it over her.
the only thing she did not like was it coming over her head. and even then she just shook it off as she would a biting horse fly.
it was then I desided to start training her for Ultimate Cowboy Race. I figured it would be good for both of us.
which means I'm going to have to cut back on other things to make time but I think it will be more then worth it in the end to see her and I do this race(s).
and if down the road it turns out to not be the thing for her I will start her in reining. :D
update Today at 3:55 pm
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
went out to the barn today to see how he was. (I went home for a few days.)
Found Arizona on just about three legs. Vet is coming out tomorrow and ari and belle are in a stall till then.
could not feel a huge amount of heat anywheres on the leg. (front right. )
no big bumps or cuts
anyone going by his pasture and seen him, horseperson or not, would have seen something not right. when I saw a glimpse of him you could easy tell he was standing on three legs.
we will know more once the vet comes tomorrow. hopfully its just an hoof abcess coming out. going back to give him a bath and check him all over again.
poor belle does not like to be inside
