| So we're home... The day didn't go so well...Christian made an error in his dressage test that lend to his elimination. They did let him try the stadium jumping part. But no cross country, which sucked but at least they didn't send him home right after his dressage test. At least before his error, he was pulling 7s in his movements. Each movement is scored out of 10, so 7 is actually really good. The judge was a hard marker, so for them to pull those marks I was pleased. See I can see positive to the day. I did get to meet one ME member there, sorry I wasn't very talkative, it was right after the child got eliminated so I was slightly peeved and really frustrated with him. All better now...now we can laugh about it, but it certainly was an expensive mistake ha ha. Here some pictures from the day Hanging out at the farm that Skippy stayed at. 1st thing this morning. Warming up for the day In the ring getting ready for Dressage Jumping So after today...we going back to the drawing board. It was a good learning day, an expensive day but we got to spend time together so a good day. | |

| Stadium went ok...but I called it a day after that. He is now home from school today, so I'm wondering if he wasn't fighting something this weekend. Oh well. There is always next year. Already plotting and planning | |

| Christian passed both his D and D1 yesterday in his Pony Club testing. He was tested on his Stable management and riding.
Skippy didn't perform to her highest level though, I think the cold, damp and wet weather was affecting her yesterday...she just seemed off, not unsound just the off. She is a point and shoot horse...put her at a jump and she'll jump it, not yesterday, so that sort of threw Christian for a loop. Which is good in a way because he hasn't had to deal with a horse refusing so now he knows how to fix it. But it didn't help his mark...once something goes wrong for his he gets all flustered so another thing to work on. But it is break time now, only trail rides or fun rides now...

| You have lots of positives to take from this. A long trailer ride to a new environment for both horse and rider. That in itself to me is a big deal. He tried two out of three events and nobody got hurt. Good job! The performance in the ring is really small beans compared to everything else you've accomplished.
The riding conditions for the pony club testing look very cold and miserable. Good on them for doing so well. | |
