| I stumbled upon part of a CBC documentary about the newfoundland pony while I was checking out YouTube. At approx the 9 minute mark they show Skipper racing around like a friggin' fool when he was younger. It's pretty cool to see what a handful he was then and compare him to the gentleman he is now. Check it out! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wwtNN_XsLnk | |

| Well... wasn't our white gentleman was full of sass and vinegar in his younger days??? It is a sobering fact that he was so near to being lost himself and the benefit he provided for the survival of the Newfoundland Pony breed. Skipper is a hero on so many levels!!!! | |

| He was quite the handful to say the least. VERY strong - in both muscle and attitude! It used to take 2 men to try to lead him. The government wouldn't let him be gelded because of the breeding program however by the time he was about 14 he was "snipped on the sly" because he was so out of hand. He gave many a newfoundlander many a bruisin'!
There are 29 of his registered offspring that are registered with the Newfoundland Government. And those are just the "pure breds". Goodness knows how many other ladies he "serviced" on the sly!

| What a fire cracker! He reminds me of a stud that didn't get much turnout....
I love Land and Sea. Can't wait for the new episodes to start this season.
