What is your opinion on riding in the snow? Are you more cautious riding in the snow as there may be ice under the snow? Do you ride as you normally would, including walk, trot, and canter, or do you mostly walk? Is it safe to jump in the snow? Last question, do you go on trail rides in the winter, as there could be anything under the snow? Just curious on other opinions on this topic. Thank you!

I love riding in the snow! I take into consideration that it it more difficult for the horse. So I do less loping and trotting, but I still do some. I stay on trails that I know well so I know what to expect under the snow, like where the ice patches would be etc.... I don't jump but if I did I probably wouldn't in the snow just in case of ice underneath and realizing that it takes alot more energy to work in the snow. I know how hard walking through deep snow is, it can sure take your breathaway!
