For Sale: Donkey

We have a medium sized donkey gelding - we got him for trade on some sheep and have decided we're going to try a lama this summer instead of a donkey.

Asking $500

Just so you know........Llama's spit........and if you are trailering them somewhere, you have to take some of their poop from home with you or they will not poop ........they have some little idiosyncracies much like myself. :roll:

Hmmmm, so when you come to visit, JJ, shall I remember not to look in your bags for the poop????? lol

D, any idea how trained he is? How old he is? is he good to handle? good with farrier?

He leads and my guess is that he must be a complete doll with his feet because the guy that trimmed him is pretty clueless...

He is 9 years old... great with cattle and horses. A real nice and easy going donkey to have around...

The young fellow wanted to try his hand at the sheep and offered us the donkey in return for some ewes/lambs so we took the donkey but don't really need him.

him cute.. lots of hair.. he needs a person to love him.. Twighlight.. needs another critter to fuss over..:)

He is a fine donkey. I think I would choose a donkey over a llama as well....but llama's are neat in their own way. I am amazed how much you can learn on the site....who knew about llama's and their poop???!!!!

Oh he is gorgeous!!! Are his ears the same length? the left one looks shorter????

How easy is it to arrange shipping from PEI?

I assumed they were the same length but now that I look closely at the pictures one does look shorter doesn't it? I'm going to have to inspect this ear business when I go down to feed tonight.

He's a real pleasant guy to have around...lays out flat in the middle of the cattle and only raises his head when he hears a noise...

I'm sure I can find him a reasonable ride off the Island.

If I had my own barn I'd get him for sure!! And I think his ear situation is rather cute:)

I had a donkey years ago who was missing the end of his ear; he had been in a bad situation, feet were a disaster, was skinny as could be, skittish, and had obviously lost part of an ear. Seamus was a grand wee fellow, and I really regret selling him.

We are just stymied by the lack of a ride for the young 'un, so if you know anyone who is willing to haul my ass around, can you let D-Cutch and myself know? Transport is the only barrier to the sale, darnit.

it figures, wasnt it just last week Caper Cowgirl was going over and was looking for anyone who needed something brought back............
