| Adorable! If him and Titan (I believe he is yours, also?) go missing, don't bother coming to CB looking, they certainly won't be hiding out in my paddock! | |

| Well I spoke to AQHA. It doesn 't sound too bad. Need to dna both mare and foal but need to do a registration application on the foal first in order to obtain the dna kit for him. I told them there was no SBR for the mare but she just said print an application off and fill it out and send it in. She said to try one stallion at a time and they will compare dna's to determine the sire. Sounds like it may be a long process but fairly straight forward. And it could potentially be a bit expensive.... I believe each dna is $ 50 and another $ 40 on top of that for the parentage verification. Hopefully I only have to do the one stallion...LOL. then with the transfers, reg fees and late SBR's, I could be looking at approximately $ 300.
Im scratching my head....and asking myself with the horse market like it is, is it worth putting another $ 300 into him. Is a set of papers going to make that much difference in his sale price? What's your opinions????? Would you do it or not?

| If it were me, I'd do it. I just think if a horse is registerable, it should be registered, even geldings.
He's a cutie, of course I kinda like buckskins. :)

| I would (and have done the same but with APHA) register, it is a bit costly but usually you should be able to recoup the $300 in his sale price as a weanling, and for the future registration can make him worth much more than a grade horse, plus in general registered stock generally fare better in the long run. | |

| I'd get it done. You'd make 300 off him seeing that he is registered vs not, I'd think.
And for sale, you say? Well well, you deliver Titan...and I'll give you pick of whatever I have. You like cars? Dogs? Cats? Kids? C'mon, we can haggle!

| He has a really sweet face. I'd register him if he's eligible - just a preference, not saying registered or unregistered is better. The last photo is my fav. | |

| Were they registered with the AQHA? In order to be registered, a foal needs to have two AQHA reg parents, or one AQHA reg parent and one TB parent, so it does not matter that the sire was half TB, so long as he and the mare are registered with the AQHA, they will reg him. | |

| Both sire and dam are reg appendix QH but that makes the foal ineligible for registration.....even though both parents are reg with AQHA as Appendixes. It's a real bummer because she really doesn't have much TB in her. Dam doesn't even have a full TB left on her papers! The first one shows up in the fourth generation! | |

| That is so very odd. An Appendix QH is a first generation foal from a QHxTB parent... If the mare doesn't have full TB on her papers, why is she considered appendix? If they bred more appendix blood into her, than she wouldn't be a reg QH herself, I think I'd be putting up a stink to the AQHA. | |

| It is very interesting but apparently that is not the case. An appendix X QH is still an appendix so the TB blood gets watered down even more...one would think that after so many generations, they would qualify for reg qh papers again. CHeck out her pedigree http://www.allbreedpedigree.com/fc+coy+magicFC Coy Willy, Fc Willy Return and Fancy Return are all appendix registered....the rest are all full qh. | |

| The AQHA is so weird. Are one of those horses in her linage able to be bumped up from appendix? If even one of those horses is eligible to lose their appendix status she loses hers as well unless one parent was a TB, which isn't the case. It's a sin you have to jump through so many hoops, I mean for heavens sake, if she is 75% qh blood why does it matter? | |
