We did it! we survived our first big show!! this is a huge thing concidering we almost didn`t make it.. night before i was sewing on pink fabric to my friend joanna`s and my saddle pad. went to grab a blanket to sit on and a wasp stung me on my finger. My Mother forgot to inform me that I almost DIED as a child from an allergic reaction. it swelled while finishing saddle pads, but exspected it. on the drive home my whole hand started to swell and i had something of the form of an appendedge as a finger. called mom up and she THEN decided to tell me I am exsteamly allergic.. so off to ER we go! Thankfully mom works eastern health and they got me in really fast, drugged me up and sent me home with also a life saving anti-histamine cream that worked wonders so I was able to ride with two hands the next morning.
the only hitch we had in the show was in trail, meeting the bridge for the first time. few snorts at it in adult and walked around, and in open he sniffed, snorted, sniffed again, put a hoof on it and said "na uh lady!" and just walked around it.. everyone had quite the laugh (including the judge.. which is a good thing right?) at my big ham! besides that he did AWESOME. He was really well behaved, command class they asked for counter canter right away, and after working SO hard on getting the right lead consistantly i wasn't disapointed he got the right one. Games we had a hoot, he actually tried to get some speed at the end of it (which is HUGE for cowboy.. being napping his favorite past time) with total entries and all classes entered, we raised $1500 for breast cancer research! woop!
here are some photos of Cowboy and myself. excuse my nasty arms.. i ride on a very loose rein and over by my hips (bad habit..) and first time really riding infront of the horn and with "show rein position" haha
settling in.. was asleep standing up after 5 minutes getting of the trailer.
out for a lunge before our classes.
"are we done yet?"
Note cowboy's twin peanut in the background.

SO proud of cowboy doing the gate right.. we had allot of troubles trying to get this down pat!
so apperently in a trail pattern.. doing cones to the left doesn't actually mean them being on the left! my bad..
cowboy's First reaction to the bridge. it looks allot worse then what it was.
got it done right this time! haha
