Things are moving along slowly with the barn, I was hoping to have them home by the time the last show rolls around at the end of the month, but it looks like that may not be happening. I'm now hoping for the end of next month!

Mid August

Yesterday. The door on the right will lead into my future tack room, and two stalls on the left. Not sure why it's being built from the inside out!

These two doors will lead from the stalls into my ring/scrap paddock. There will also be an 8 foot overhang above the doors for shelter.

Looking from the end of the house toward the barn. To the right will eventually be a lean to shaped addition with a hay room and tack room. Not sure if it will be build when the main part is finished, or if it will wait until the spring. To the left will be an 8 foot overhang for shelter.

That's all for now!

Nice to see that your barn is progressing.

The only think that might be a draw back in the future (and I don't want to sound negative, ok) is that it is 2x4 construction. My vet has a barn (bigger then yours) that is made with 2x4 and it was fine and dandy until she got a young colt, full of piss and vinegar. The barn is not strong enough to keep him contained! Who would have thought! So they can't put the young fellow in the barn, nor can she feel safe with her Clyde mare. I hope with your well behaved horses, everything will work out alright!

When we built our run in, we used post in the ground (6 feet deep) and no animal is going to damage that structure!

Can't wait to see the finished barn!

Woohoo progress! I know all about the waiting game and how nice it is to see something getting done :D We started building out indoor/barn in April and it still isn't done, but don't give up hope - just keep plugging away at it and it'll get done! Take the time to do it right and you should never have to do anything with it again (aside from maybe expanding ;)

You're making progress. It probably doesn't feel like it, but you are. Keep plugging away and one day it'll be finished. I love the idea of the overhang so the beasties can get out of the weather.
