Had a Visit with Crippledcowgirl!

I work here where Becky is so I went down and had a quick visit with her tonight and took her some chocolate of course, she was pretty pleased about that. She looks great!!! I told her everyone here was thinking about her!!! She said she's bored but I'm going to try and bring her some DVD's, so if any of you have some DVD's you'd be willing to part with send them to me and I'll deliever them to her, I know that might help pass her time a bit. If there's anything else you'd like to send along feel free I am more than willing to deliver anything to her..

Well Joan it's the least I can do.. I know the days are so long for her, and I really wish I could somehow get internet for her, I don't have a laptop or a stick otherwise I'd give her mine. I hope this place gets wifi soon.. I'm going to try and get some movies for her to keep her occupied a bit... I work again Wednesday night so I'll see what I can gather up for her. She was pretty excited about her chocolate bar though said she'd be having that in the middle of the night! ha

Drats, someone asked me about goodies, and I said I didnt think she would be allowed any..........just to take magazines to keep her busy.........shoot.

Well they let her have the chocolate bar I took her tonight, hehehehe...

I'm planning a visit after church tomorrow, taking some magazines with me and a couple dvds, may keep her busy till you get another chance to visit.

Becky said to say hi and tell every one she's alive even though she cant get on here. She is bored out of her mind without internet, I go through internet withdrawl if I dont have internet for a few hours, I can imagine how hard it must be to go days and weeks without. She did say she hopes to go home soon and will be back on to catch up once she is. She said she enjoyed meeting Mere yesterday.

I was in to see her tonight, too! She was delighted to see both Mere and Syl! Thank you so much gals for taking the time to pop in and see her, plus the chocolate, and videos and magazines. Something to help her pass the time.

She was not doing as well this evening as she had been doing. Her pain was peaking and it was making her very sick to her stomach. Poor thing she just retches for hours. Nurse was in and gave her a shot of gravol, so that was starting to kick in when I left. She will not be able to come home until they can control the retching, with out IV meds.

Moonshadow, I'm in town every sunday for church and wednesday afternoons so if you can think of anything to cheer her up or need anything let me know. does becky have any favorite games? hobbies? I have dozens of more magazines. what type movies does she like, drama? comedy?

She doesn't realy have any hobbies ( other than her photography).. she likes all kinds of movies.. she pretty well watches everything. We've been down loading different HBo series on a stick, then transfer to her computer. We've also gotten her the odd movie that way as well.

I think just seeing someone off and on is a real treat. I can't get back into until Wed afternoon, so we talk lots on the phone. If she mentions anything particular she needs or wants I'll be sure to post it here. Thanks so much for taking the time to visit with her. She realy did appreciate it.

You ladies are all fantastic! It must mean so much for Becky to see your faces - even if she didn't know who the Bleeding heart you were! HA HA! Seriously though, her days must be painfully long without the internet. We all know how much we rely on it for our entertainment. Keep the movies, mags and especially the chocolate coming.

I popped in to see Becky last night on the way down from St John..and took a little selection of choc bars !! i have never met her before and she didn.t know me i had to give my ME name LOL !! but what a lovely girl!!! i had a really nice visit !! Keep getting better Becky !!!!!! looking forward to meeting you again !!

I was talking to Crippledcowgirl tonight, and she wanted me to THANK everyone again for thier visits and treats. She has enjoyed meeting you all.

She is still waiting for more tests, and still being treated for pain and retching. Some test have revealed she may be looking at a bowl obstruction. Now it has to be determined if the obstruction is on the outside pressing in, or the inside pressing out. It is called the " Nut Cracker syndrom".. Not sure at this point how it will be treated. The part of the bowel affected in the small intestine, which is laying behind the liver. She has been being treated for end stage heart failure which was felt to be causing liver pain.. So as ikky as having a bowl obstuction diagnosis sounds, it could be better than the liver diagnosis. So we wait.. on more tests.

I was hoping to get back in last week, I have a horse book and some more magazines, but due to crunching up back end of my car, trans going in one truck and starter problems with the other I've been stuck home a bit, may get by Wednesday if all goes well. Tell her we're all thinking of her even if we cant make it in.

Becky had a CAT scan , yesterday.. waiting to hear results. They are working towards getting her paroled for the end of the week... or first part of next week. Still have not found what can be causing her retching, and excessive pain. ~ sigh~ Its so hard to see your kid in pain. :36_1_38[1].gif

I'm going to try and take her some movies I found the other night around here. They aren't great but would pass time.. I worked Tuesday night but it was so busy I didn't get down.. Hope things get figured out real soon for her...

Becky looked great today, said she's hoping to go home tomorrow and will catch up on Facebook and here with everyone. Dropped her off some movies Flicka had burned for her and couple more magazines and such.

Ha.. Well every morning when I get the papers here I always try and put a little something on it for her.. Just to try and brighten her day a bit.. It's been fairly busy lately here at work so I haven't got to go down and spend a few minutes with her. Seems most of my shifts have been a bit nuts..

So glad to hear she might be going home tomorrow that's awesome news!

Just to let you all know SHE is home now!!! I think she was in ICU this time 31 days! Have not had much time to chat on line.. so just doing some quick scanning, and when I get some time I will do some updates. Becky was realy appreciative of all over your well wishes, visits, gifts, etc. I'm sure once she gets settled in she will post some stuff on facebook.

REALLY glad to hear Becky is home. I had a good trip to Ontario and hope to get out to see you soon and have that cup of tea. Just getting back into the routine here.

Hanover I am looking forward to hanging out and drinking some tea! I glad you had a good visit in Ont. I trust all went well at home while you were away?


ANOTHER UPDATE!

Becky went to Halifax yesterday for her 3 month appointment in Halifax with her congentital heart defect cardiologist... This Dr. and her medical team, felt Becky was in the best shape she has been in for years. They marveled on how good she looked. Not only that, all the blood work, and heart tests backed up the "good looks". Seems her heart has better function than it did 2 years ago. Now she needs to work on getting her muscle tone back..slowly. She has been told to relax and to start living again... some work left to do with her mental health.. So tons of Equine therepy for this chicky!! It's nice to know that her moving home, has some major benefits. Her Specialist was so pleased with how the medical team here that is working with her, keeps her up todate on everything. It sure helps the paitent if all sides of the medical world communicate and share resources.

So Major CHEERS!!! :fireworkssvg.m For all the Health care professionals in Cumberland County who have been working so hard to make life better for Becky!!!! There is a long list of people involved. Also a big HUGE thank you to the folks from this "horse community ( ME)" that have kept BEcky in their thoughts, made calls, visited, brought treats..etc. Every little bit helps!
