Cleaning Wood Floor Empty
PostSubject: Cleaning Wood Floor   Cleaning Wood Floor Icon_minitimeThu Apr 23, 2009 2:55 pm

In my new house there is wood flooring. I am not too sure what I should use to clean the floor. Vaccuming it is not enough, it needs to be washed. Someone told me not to use Mr. Clean, so I won't. But what should I use? Just water and a mop? Is there something specially desinged to clean hardwood floors?

Thanks

Oh and maybe someone could come over and clean my floors for me???

I've heard of the water and vingear mix too. I've used a spray cleaner made by Goodfellows. It's comes with a washable mop head. I bought the kit at Kent.

When we had wood floors we used water and vinegar as well and now use the same thing on our laminate floors.

I use avon bubble bath, smells great and does not streak, in fact i use it to clean most stuff, leaves granite work surface sparkling and does a great job on the toilet, vanilla creme is the nicest one i think!!!!

I use hot water and just a wee bit of dish soap (not enough to make many bubbles). It doesn't streak and it's very cost effective. Also cleans the floor !!! :P

For those who use water and vinegar, how much of each do you use?

If the floors are really dirty

1/4 cup liquid soap
1 cup white vinegar or lemon juice (vinegar is cheaper)
9 l warm water

If their not to dirty omit the soap

Happy cleaning :)
