wow, that is a blast from the past. I lived in England until I was nine, which is where Pam Ayres hails from.

I remember when I was eight or so, Pam Ayres had a song that became hugely popular, sort of a novelty piece. She had a dark pageboy, and sort of spoke with a very West Country accent, quietly, if my mind is remembering correctly.

Her song was Oh I wished I'd looked after my teeth.
As they foamed in the waters beneath.
