hey you.........well, once they learn THE WHY you are getting them, then they can work on that.......are you able to keep your breath a little better now, not feeling like you are gasping while talking?????/ It's a little scary in the beginning, but once you are out and going to the BLOOD Warafin Clinic they will monitor you twice a week....seems like a lot, but if its not an hour and a half drive......get over it and just go.....once they stableize your INR they will reduce it to once a week for blood work........its a time thing kidddo......you cant make it go faster.....I know, I tried...but they only want to help.....keep smiling and dont bite the nurses...... :hug.gif:

I'm so sorry you got sick, thank goodness your mother was there and you got to the hospital, I'm glad they rushed your tests and I'm glad they found out what's up. I hope you get feeling better very very soon, and that they find the source of the problem and fix it! Very happy for you that you have such wonderful support and that the ponies will be all taken care of.

Tuesday's Update (July 20th)

So, I was able to see the another two specialist, and they are doing their paperwork for test. My MRI got pushed till tomorrow due to an emergency that came in today.

They were going to release me to out to the floor, but there was no open beds in the Cardiac floor, so we'll see what tomorrow has, but they are not in need of the bed in the CCU. Which is good. So we'll see what tomorrow brings for that.

During the day they have been letting me wander around the CCU a bit, so that I can start to move around and building up strength after being in bed for a couple of days. For supper they let me escape the CCU and Grant and I went to the cafeteria for supper, not much of a date, but I was happy to spend time with my hunny. And now they don't have me on the monitor anymore for my heart. So these are all ASWOME signs for how I am doing.

They are still working on what caused this whole issue, but things are looking very good.

The blood clots are still in my lungs and can actually take a couple months to fully breakdown. But they are happy with the results of the blood work they have received back. I guess some of the other tests they have requested can take a week or more to get back, as they actually have to be sent off site, as they are very specific. Once I am released, I'll have to go and have blood work done quiet a bit so they can get the meds to the right strength, and they are not sure how long I'll have to be on them.

I hope to know tomorrow when I'll actually be able to come home.

they still want to know THE WHY you got them and yes you will be on the RAT POISON for quite some time........just take your life a little more slowly for a bit, whatever gave you the clots is NOT GONE...........just quieted.....something may have to change a little.........whatever, be thankful you are as good as you are......glad you had some time with your honey............big hugs.........hoping you can recover enough to come play with us at the Cape Breton Survivor Camp......hahahaha............... :cowboyhound.gi

Flicka, I am so happy to hear you are on the mend..... I am anxiously waiting to hear why this happened to you too. We do NOT want this happening again. I hope Grant and your parents are able to breath a little easier now too. I think about them too.

I think Becky is planning a trip in today to see you.... she will be the cute blond, dragging the canister of o2 around with her. It was decided after her last bout with heart failure she has to be on it 24/7. I bet the nurses will recognise her..

As far as I'm concerned, any date is a good date! It sounds like you're making progress.

Do you still get short of breath when you walk a little? You are holding up wonderfully and we really appreciate your updates. You're in my thoughts and I'm hoping you heal quickly - and totally. Take it easy. Hug from the rock. :hug.gif:

Saturday's Update (July 24th)

Well some good news, they let me out yesterday!!!!!!! BUT they still are not sure on what caused the clots. I do have to go for blood work on Monday to make sure the meds they have me on are at the correct dosage, as my diet will increase/decrease their effect on the clotting of my blood.

The only limits my Dr gave me was to be careful and build up my energy carefully. As right now it doesn't take much for me to get tired. NOW Grant and Mom on the other hand have placed greater restrictions on me, but that's ok, it shows they love me!!!!!!!!

Grant took me out to my friends barn so I could see Flicka and Dealer, it was so nice to see them. It was odd coming home yesterday and they were not out in the back. I was out for about an hour, and was pretty tired by the time I got back into the truck. It wouldn't have been too bad if I had sat down for a bit, but I kept walking. (Yes Grant kept and eye on me, and was impressed when I was the one who suggested we leave as I was getting tired.)

So this concludes my story for a bit. I want to say thank you to all who was praying for me, as well as those who were crossing their fingers/toes.

I was talking with Mom on how we are fearfully and wonderfully made, this has just been another example.

Nice to hear you are home. Glad to hear you are going to take it easy. Before long you will be back to yourself.

:congratulation Congrats on getting out of the "big house". I hope they are going to closely monitor you. You know all the signs now so pay attention to what your body is telling you. It sounds like you're on the mend. Build up your strength slowly. JJ will probably be a great source of info for you as she has just been through this herself. Take care and keep us posted. Just because the RELEASED you does not mean you can go nuts.....hahahah........Listen to whos talking......It is extremely hard to slow down once you get your BREATH back, but you have to realize that you cant just keep going, you will just screw up everything they have been trying to address........sometimes just making it to the bathroom by yourself can be a BIG ADVENTURE.........take care of yourself kiddo...... :hug.gif:

Well it's been a week that I've been out. I still have to take things slowly, as I don't have my full energy yet. But when I start to get tired, I go and take a break, and then go back to it later.

My mom came over and did a big cleaning out at my house this week, as I haven't been up for it. And the weekend I was going to give the whole house the scrubbing, I ended up in the hospital. I hated seeing her doing it, but was so appreciative.

I started back to work, with the blessing of the Dr's. As for my job, I sit at a desk at home, and can get up when I need to. So every couple hours I go and take a break as needed and as I want.

Today was the first day my husband let me drive so I could go into town to a Dr appointment. He was going through my file and we were joking about all the tests they made me do and how much thicker it made my file. Some results were back that the hematologist ordered, but he's not sure what they all mean, but see's there are some very specialized tests that they haven't gotten back. So we still have to wait for my appointment with the hematologist to see what he has to say.

The other thing he said was my fainting was probably due to the clots going through my heart on their way to my lungs, and I'm VERY lucky I have a strong heart. So three times my heart was "hit" with big clots is when I passed out, and the other half-blackout spells where the minor clots that are now in my lungs.

In Sept/Oct I get to go for another CAT scan to see how much damage was done to my lungs.

I hope that sometime next week or next weekend I can take my babies home. I sooooo miss them. I get random text message from friends telling me how DIRTY they are!!!!!

Great to hear your getting back into things slowly.So,the doctors say you have a strong heart,thats good to know,you seem like a big hearted gal anyway.
When my mam got very sick and literaly went through the mill with operation after operation,at one stage her weight went down to 4 stone,but she fought back,and the doctors always said she had the Heart of a lion,one of the strongest organs she had in her body. Sadly she is no longer with us but it just goes to show that a strong heart will get you through. :hug.gif:

Flika... i have not been on for a while i had no idea you had been so sick... these blood clots are scary things.. look after your self, take it easy for a while.... so glad you are home and on the mend....
