Hock Boots

I need hock boots that I can ride in, I am sure I have seen them before on reiners and standardbreds, but I've contacted several companies and they only carry neoprene sweat wraps. Though they did all say that once upon a time you could get ones to use while working. This is infuriating.

If worst comes to worst I will buy and try to ride in the sweats, but they do not look very supportive (the are open in the front and just thin neoprene) and they look restricting. Has anyone ever tried? can you do this??

the big english stores carry them.....mostly for jumpers or eventers......come in many different qualities and materials, with straps or velcro.

Do you know which ones, Joan? I've looked everywhere I can think, I can only find sweats, or the therapeutic magnetic sort of ones that are certainly not meant for riding wear.

Cavalier Equestrian had one of the largest stock of boots I ever saw......I bought a lot of their stuff for the store......I believe you can still order as an individual through their website, or if not you can find what you are looking for and have Cathy at Tip Top or Kevin at Northstream order them for you

Thanks Joan, sadly they don't carry hock boots of any type, I was looking in their catalogue in Co-op, and just took another peek online to see if hopefully I missed something. No luck.

I think they just don't make them any more. I wonder if I can just fuse his hock together and then I wouldn't have to worry about it slipping all over the place? hmmm

I have the Tack,nTogs merchandising catalogue, that lists every single manufacturer of anything related to horses and their people.........its a retailers buyers guide........it has thousands of companies with phone and website addresses....you are welcome to have it and do some more checking.
