As of Friday....

I'm flying solo... hubby heads to Saskatchewan on Friday...

He is moving my sister out to University of Saskatchewan where she will spend the next 5 years completing her Master's and PhD. I'm sure going to miss her...

He'll be pit stopping in St. Paul, AB to visit a good friend of his and then the plan is to keep trucking down to Minnesota.

He has high hopes of finding a trailer down in Minnesota :roll: and then back across the border to Brandon, MB where he'll pit stop again and then he's rolling home.

These trips stress me... Glenn is the type of guy that when he gets behind the wheel he doesn't stop. He just keeps right on trucking - I guess maybe that's a result of hauling livestock all his life - determine to get where he's going and get them unloaded.

We have a retired gentleman that hangs around our farm and he's co-pilot for the trip along with my sister's dog that will be making the trip one way.

I hope he has a good and safe trip.....

too bad it wasnt a couple weeks later then I'd have had him pick up Bailey on his way back, just booked her flight last night for the 22nd of Sept.

I told him a trailer isn't in our budget and he told me he didn't care if he had to change a few tires on the way home he wasn't coming back empty.... :roll:

LB, when I saw your FB status last night I assumed you were refering to Bailey and was actually thinking the same thing.... No time at all and you'll have your partner in crime back!!

Sounds like a long trip but I am sure Glenn will make the most of it. Wishing him a safe journey.

I am sure you will miss your sister but wish her good luck as well in her studies. That gives you good reason to travel to Sask. Just think of all the pretty ponies you could see.

Hubby arrived in Ottawa this AM - westward they go!

The lights on the UHAUL trailer aren't working :roll: we told them at UHAUL when we picked it up that the trailer lights were shorting... given they didn't know how to hook up the brakes or the ground it was a hopeless situation... anyhoo they drove last night with 4-ways on that could be seen on the truck...

Now the stressful part for me at home...western Ontario... last time Glenn went he saw many many deer, two moose and alot of big ole wild birds.

I have heard that the drive across northern/western Ontario is long and boring. Glenn has extra eyes with him which will be a benefit as far as spotting wildlife. How long will he be gone???

Keep us updated on his trip. Friggin' U-Haul. Their rigs are not always the best and the people that rent them out to you don't really know much about vehicles. They just get you to sign the contract. Ontario is a loooooong drive for sure. I'm glad his sister is with him to help with the wildlife sightings, and for company on such a long trip.

Well hubby is in Saskatchewan... LOL he informed me that my sister's dog is doing a better job co-piloting him than the original co-piloter and that he almost left the original co-piloter in the deep woods of western Ontario to hitch a way home...

Anyhoo he still sounds to be in pretty good trim and is stopping to visit a good friend who works on a cattle feedlot, then off to the farm that Thunder came from to visit and have a peek at this years babies, and then on to the Saskatoon airport to collect my sister.

So far so good. I hear they are getting nice warm weather out west. He'll probably come back with "trucker's tan"!
