would like to learn more about this but don't know where to start and is there any one local that can teach

Hi Mylouie,
You can check out the ACTRA website - www.ac-tra.ca for lots of info and we (hopefully - plans are in progress) will have a booth at the Horse fair in Truro on Apr 17 and 18.
The first ride of the season is in Stanley. Saturday 22 May - Limited Distance - up to 30 miles and Sunday 23 May is the Intermediate Distance Ride which is up to 15 miles. I may not have these exactly right as I am a beginner myself. LOL
The May rides are run by Lucy Rudge and for more info you can contact her. 902-757-3562
This will only be my second ride but I am usually at all of the rides as a volunteer.

MM I think she's looking to find out what is required for a competitive trail class at a show as well

There's also a Facebook group called: Atlantic Canada Trail Riding Association, if it's the actual trail riding info you're looking for, not the trail event at shows. They post pics & info on rides there and they're helpful in answering questions, too!
